does anyone has any inputs on those sony xplod (XS-R1644) speakers from at wal-mart? im looking for some cheap speakers to replace my stock since they are blown and can't keep up with my old sony xplod deck.

on the plate of the deck it's says "52W x 4" or something like that. what does that mean?

heres the link to those speakers at wal-mart: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sony-Xplod-XS-R1644-6-1-2-4-Way-Speakers/14956456

it seems like it got good reviews but i wanna hear it from integra owners.

im not a real music freak and needs a big bass or amplifier or anything like that. i just want something that can handle my deck and has nice crisp sound with excellent bass, and not sound distorted and all.

if anyone has had experience with these speaker before, let me know how it went. Thank you!

i have a 95 2dr ls btw.

I personally don't like the walmart brand sony xploid stuff. You get what you pay for you can say. Im guessing the 52W means watts. guessing hat its making 52 watts at all 4 together.

i've got a 500w 9 inch running on a JVC 250w amp and it sounds decent but theres hardly any bass :/ I know the amp is holding me back but the sub still doesnt hit the real low end very well

You will get what you pay for as stated. Best Buy has some of the better end of the Xplod line..3-4 Years ago, sony used to make everything with a silver face plate and they all sucked. They have really turned there line around, but are still not at the level of Alpine etc, but those cost 2-3 times as much, easily. If you want decent quality and no bass from the speakers, these are okay. If you want to save up some cash and get higher end stuff, let me know I can recommend some stuff.

They're called "Roadmasters." Can't vouch for them, but for just a couple dollars extra you can get a pair of Dual brand speakers. I had Sony Xplod 6x9's in the back, blew the left one and picked up the Duals for like 20 bucks. They sound equally as good in my opinion.

Pay the little bit extra to get nice speakers. spend $150-200 on speakers vs $50, and you'll have a WAY better sounding car and you'll enjoy driving it a lot more.

Blaupunkt, Boston Accoustics....if you want quality those 2 I just mentioned are some of the best. I know for a fact there is no difference between the "wal mart brand xplodes" and the best buy ones, they are the same damn thing lol. One gets sold at wal-mart the other at best buy, thats the only difference. Dual is about as shitty as it gets for component speakers btw. Although I have a Dual (made by Jensen) indash touchscreen dvd player in my truck that hasn't given me any issues in the year that I have owned it.

I had a roadgear amp that pushed my 2 Fosgate 12s harder then my JBL 360 and even my punch 300 amp did. That was my only expierence with roadgear products and honestly it wasn't a bad expierence lol. I used to be all about car audio, then I discovered going fast and kinda stopped dealing in car audio.

I pulled some xplod speakers out of my Integra when I got it. They're not terrible speakers if you aren't some sound system junkie. Better then stock IMO, but if you want some real quality, shell out for some real speakers.

rockadilla

thats right.
i have xplod subs, they hit really good IMO, but i only have a 240w amp and the subs are good for 1100w, couldnt tell u much about the normal speakers tho

cost is kind of a big deal for me at the moment, guess ill save up for now. thanks. but i've been waiting a year now and haven't seen some mid-high end speakers (normal price at 80 range/pair) go on sale before. do they always get new model every time and toss the old? haha.

check craigslist, I see brand new Alpine and JL stuff in my area quite a bit. Some one was selling a full car Alpine set up with head unit, speakers, and subs for 400! Thats a good deal!
