Ram intake idea! Please help

Ok so I had this idea....
Could I get a cold air intake that draws from behind the front bumper, then purchase/mod/fabricate something that fits in the bumper grille area and connects directly to the intake with like a bubble around the filter but is airtight so that it forces cold air into the engine (like mild forced induction) when I get up to speed? Would that improve horsepower at higher speeds? Like above 30?

just the whole concept of raming air into the intake is not going to make more horsepower, now im sure if you took a leaf blower and turned it on into the intake that yes it would make more power

the force of the air is just not great enough to make more power...the main concern is getting fresh cool air to your filter

With that aside, yes this is called a velocity stack. Almost everyone who knows about how to make power with these cars is going to tell you that a velocity stack will be the better option to get air quicker to your motor. That is the main goal right? By having a velocity stack, the air coming into the intake piping is being pulled in smoothly and at a wider angle, therefore not slowing down by hitting a smaller target like the piping to the intake manifold.

If you are concerned about dirty air, blox makes one with a filter.

This setup usually gains maybe another HP on the dyno, so its up to you what you do. Either way, I wouldn't waste much money on an intake, there isn't much power to be found. Buy a cheap short ram with that blox filter and be done with it if you want my opinion. You are better off saving the money for another mod.

I didnt contradict myself...i have a velocity stack as well as my headlight cut out...i run a front splitter for road racing so my CAI was not getting any direct cold airflow...thats why i cut my headlight out so i can get cold air around my filter to suck it in through my velocity stack and into my filter

i know where your coming from....all im saying is if you put a car on a dyno with my type of setup, and one with "ram air" coming straight from the headlight there will be no difference (only difference would be b/c of intake pipe length)
