Noisy car

I have put a layer of sound proofing in the back trunk. I have three floor mats on each side of driver and passenger - and still this is one of the noisiest cars I have ever driven. Any reason why?
Amazingly loud inside at 60mph

Get new weather stripping and add dynomat type material around the entire shell inside, like a truck bed liner, it'll be heavier, but will solve your issue, or turn up the radio :)

It's a 18-21 year old car... They are all loud. Want silence, get ready to add a ton of weight in sound deadening material and weather stripping. Or get a newer car.

Not exactly helpful answers - I wondered if anyone had any insight to why Acura would build a car like that. (or if there was a reason) The layer of insulation I added to the back trunk floor is like Dynomat. Anyway. I will move to a 1994-96 as soon as I can and give my car to my friend Thomas - it will be his first.

Again as previously stated, it is an 18-21 year old car. All cars were like that back then. Their answers are pretty much the only things you can do to make it quieter, so yes, they are helpful answers

I love the road noise. It reminds me that I'm in a car and not in a living room.

Mine isn't very loud. Are you sure you don't have something actually causing a noise that makes yours louder than normal? Has it always been very loud or did that get louder at some point. I work at a honda dealer, so I drive the newer quieter ones every day I work, and other than because of my exhaust, my car isn't really that much louder in most ways. You can definitely have a DA that isn't loud just because "its a 18 year old car" as everyone wants to say, and you shouldn't need additional deadening to do it.

They are old, loud cars, sports cars even, you sacrifice quietness in the cabin for sporty feel at that time in the automotive industry, don't be a dick because we didn't give you the answer you wanted, the only thing wrong with your car is that it's a 20yr old sports car :)

130HP+FWD is not a sports car... It was a "sportier" solution to a civic. "sportier" does not make it a sports car...

Just curious OP, Is your Integra lowered by chance?... My Integra's were always kinda loud but it got louder with aftermarket (lower profile) tires and lowered ride height.

True^^^ I find mine to be a sports car for that timeframe, in USA Honda=family car, Acura =sports car, tables have turned on that in the last decade, don't argue, just open your mind to that little fact, and appreciate the greatness, we own Honda's luxury sports car of the 90's

Sorry I should clarified at the beginning of why you think the car was noisy - not so much as how to make it quieter. I just thought it was odd. I have owned a lot of vehicles before but never one this loud inside. At 40 mph the rear passenger cannot hear the driver and pass talk. In Vancouver, BC there is no rust on vehicles and we have the lowest UV rating in the world so rubber lasts longer. Maverick's and Vega's drive around here. You can drive a car forever here if all you do is replace parts. It is stock height and stock exhaust. Back seats are in - it is all stock - just even replaced the stock sterio with a newer one - but I have blown speakers in the front doors so it isn't turned on. There is no drivetrain back there and brakes were just done. Hmm. Maybe it's the tires..

Nope... Acura is the luxury line of north american Honda. Acura just got the upper class of Honda's to keep Honda as a cheap economical brand. In that time, The Integra was only a upper class solution to their Civic.

A sports car in the 90s was the 300ZX, Supra, RX7 etc... (Notice 200HP+ RWD). I've read every article about the G2 integra from the time these cars were brand new, The only time it came close to sports car was with the GSR but it was never called that. Don't over glorify your vehicle sir, See it for what it is (or was).
