poormans type r?

[ls-v90]

So I have a 90dars 5speed, I wanna do a poormans type r. B18a1 engine. Orginal everything. There's already a new distributor rotor, plugs and plug wires. What do I need for the poormans type r setup? Wires, ecu, head, etc. I'm going to have catback coldair and headers and maybe injectors if ill need em. I'm a college student that's the reason for the poormans quest and id rather do a mild build before a better one. Any feedback is good. Thnx

I've tried going less expensive before, never pays off, gotta pay to play brother, do it right the first time and you'll be much happier, and richer when you don't have to do it all over again, but if you're dead set on it, talk with samurai blue, he knows his shit, don't forget to switch your cams and valve springs to type r and double springs though

ya i probably just fed his oversized ego ha ha just kidding, but to the op, if you're in college, you of all people should know the math behind what you're asking, do it once, do it right, but most important of all in the tuning community, do it the way that makes you happy, not us, if you wanna do it how you're asking, the block and head already mentioned is your starting platform, since you're already obd0 get a pr3 ecu, you'll need to pin in the two vtec wires, and tune that shit, i got a guy that does it cheap, you can hit up craigslist though and find someone that'll work for cheap, but you get what you pay for, always remember that

For the cash, you can get a GSR engine, which is pretty much the poor man's type R, or the USDM version of the type R. In theory... From what I understand, you cannot get apples, when you have a bag of onions. Just saying... lol
