its not tht the b16 is a bad swap just saying the it all depends on how u build ur motor...and if u run the b16 swap with a ls tranny its not goanna be tht fast cuz the gear ratio is to long...my uncle's 2000 si ran fine until he putted the ls tranny tht some one sayed it was an lsd b16 tranny in his car and wen we ran i would just take of on him and in 3rd gear i would just be gone....if u do the b16 swap make sure tht u atleast have an ys1 or b16 tranny

Im a fan of b20's, I had a jdm b20 in my crx. It was the low compression version due to having the p8r head but still ran solid, ran even better after boosting it lol.

Bone Stock B20b w/jdm b16 trans 14.83 at 93mph Only mod was intake tube with filter, was on stock LS exhaust manifold

acturally the 92-93 b18a1 has same hp as the b18b...but i think instead of doning a swap u should just get the b16 tranny an other boltons...i got an 93 integra ls with bolt ons cams and ys1 tranny i ran a 14.73 1/4mile time on it:)
I have a 90, so the b18a1 I have has less power than the 92-93 b18a1... lol

Convert to obd1 and swap intake manifolds and boom your the same power as the obd1 version. Thats where the extra 10hp comes from, many will argue that its camshafts, but they are wrong lol. I had a buddy who owns a machine shop mic several different cams for me to show no truth in that myth. B18a1, B18b1, automatic, manual cams...all had the same specs according to his mic.

The minute differences in power of the 90-91 A1 and the 93-93 A1 aren't worth doing a motor swap for. After basic bolt ons you wont really notice a difference. The key to it all is the trans gearing, as Mr Midori pointed out. You will be a lot happier with a B18A1 paired with a GSR YS1 or B16 Y1, J1, or S1 than a b16 paired with an LS YS1,S1, or A1.

yeap u can have a 300hp but it wont run right if u have a long gear ratio tht ur motor wont even pick up at all....its best if u do some research on wat u r ganna do in the future.boost.or n/a...and deside on wat gear ratio is good on the setup ur going to do.ls tranny is pretty good for boost n gsr or b16 tranny is good for n/a...

As I have stated... I am staying N/A as I don't have deep pockets, and it's not really worth it, for me, as a DD... lol

Bird, is the word
a b20 mated with a b16 tranny would be a great swap. it'll def give you some more power and will be way more fun to drive since the b16 gears are quite a bit shorter.

H22 vtec FTW!
Arent all h22's vtec? Lol

If its yoru daily driver then just do bolt on's to your LS. If you go with a b16 trans your going to lose some fuel economy due to the shorter gears. I had the jdm xsi transmission on my b20, on the highway the car was begging for 6th gear. I ended up putting a low mileage LS trans in when I went boost. You could always put a LS 5th in the b16 trans for highway driving.

Well b18c5 or a k swap would be the best, but theyre really fuggin expensive. Best band for your buck would be b18c1. Theyre not that expensive and would be better than than both b16 and b17.

God yes K swaps are expensive. I looked into going K before deciding to build a GSR for boost. My buddy just finished up his K swap in a 99 SI and has 14k in it and thats a stock motor/trans....

LS/v I dont know who would pay 1k for the set up, I get them for about 500 bucks including the GE kit and head work.. I would just boost your ls just do a junk yard build 800 bucks for 80+ more horses isnt bad at all. Just do a compression check and move from there and check everything.

You're getting everything for a proper LSV set up for $500? Please tell me where I can procure ARP head studs, the GE LSV kit, ARP rod bolts, a decent set of higher comp pistons, and all the machine work for the block and head for that cheap...I definitely would love that hook up...
