Thoughts on engine swaps?

yes. you can run any engine harness on any motor, but you need a matching ecu to the harness
That makes it more clear... It opens up more options... Let's assume I keep my current engine, and I swapped out the harness, for something with OBD1, would that work?

Then don't plan to build the engine at all. You can only do minor bolt ons without a tune
If I keep my motor, I might consider it... I really don't know how the heck to tune the b18... lol I am so new to honda, that it's ridiculous... I am a Euro guy... lol Just had this car sitting around, and want to get it running again. lol

yes but you would only run a obd1 computer which doesnt make a difference...switching harnesses wont do anything unless you have a b18b1 which has more power than the b18a

skunk2 tuner 1s are drop in cams no tune needed

Samurai, you are my hero! lol You cleared up a lot more, than a search on google did, for me! I appreciate it to no end! Seriously! I haven't even been able to find a b18b1... I have searched, but not seen one yet...

im sure if you look around you can find a b16 complete swap for about 1000. I would look for a cable one though or atleast piece together a obd1 b20 set up with a cable b16 tranny and a obd1 ecu and harness for about 1000

basic bolt on...
cam shafts are not a bolt on. Basic bolt ons are traditionally refereed to as Header, Intake and Exhaust. Bolt ons bolt onto the motor, camshafts are internal pieces.

Someone said a B16A isn't meant for an Integra. What do you think the Integra XSi came with? Research before you open your mouth.

Get an OBD0 B16... so you dont have to convert. It will make your swap soooo much easier and all you will need is to wire up the Vtec.

Why do people bash on the B16.

Sure. It has less power and torque than the B18C, but dont forget that with a built head and bolt ons, you can almost get 190whp and more

I saw a mag article on it and thats ITR range to the flywheel.

Id say go for the B16 and fuck the B20.

Most B series will be the same swap except if you want Vtec or not.

The B16 is a great candidate for a swap! I have seen a lot of integras with it, and it seems fine... It's not the size of the engine in the car, it's the heart of the driver, doing the swap! ;) I am considering the B16 due to it's availability, though, the ECU is harder to find, than I had imagined... I am going to talk to my Wife's cousin and see if he can't help me locate one, and a Vtec B16 to go with it... He races hondas at our local circle track, and he knows a ton about them...

acturally the 92-93 b18a1 has same hp as the b18b...but i think instead of doning a swap u should just get the b16 tranny an other boltons...i got an 93 integra ls with bolt ons cams and ys1 tranny i ran a 14.73 1/4mile time on it:)
