Upgrading Engine.

Whats up guys. New to this great website. Ok, I have a stock b18a want to keep it but would like to upgrade the internals. My goal is to make atleast 200hp with turbo when I'm done with it, so I was looking for some help on what parts to buy. Also what to do for my tranny to handle that power. Thanks

You can make 200whp on a stock motor with a properly sized turbo, supporting mods, and a good tune. Just do a compression test and a leak down test to make sure your motor is healthy enough for turbo.
For your trans, you don't need to do any upgrades for that hp range. You will need to upgrade your clutch though.

Thanks BrokenTalon27. Also what is the max that a stock engine can handle? I want to upgrade my cams and cam gears, or should I upgrade something else first before I do those?

i would upgrade your rod bolts, and just do a compression and leak down test. The stock motor can handle around 300whp if tuned correctly

Dylan is right. I have seen a healthy LS motor do 300whp with a good tune. It really depends on the tune what you'll be able to get from your motor safely to produce reliable power.

What is your budget?

lol im dylan shane is pugnap00 im sure shane wishes he was me though LMAO!

your leak down and compression test are critical to that number though as well as the competency of your tuner

Awesome info guys. I want to spend around 5 to 6 grand. I live in San Diego and ppl have been telling me about Group 5 Motorsports. But if you guys now any other shop or some one that could help me do it that would be best since I want to learn what goes on in my engine.
