No offense but how much do you know about automatics? Got a buddy that runs 11's in his 94 auto civic. It's all on what u ate building it for. What is the purpose of building your car
automatic transmissions are harder to build and more expensive, your friend probably either goes through transmissions quite frequently or has upgraded the gears, torque converter etc.

I agree completely. My only point is don't look down on automatics. His is upgraded massively !nd he replaces gears quite often. They are more expensive but can be a lot of fun.

If your car has that many problems STOP SINKING MONEY INTO IT. Drive it til the wheels fall off and save up. If you want something that's fun to drive save up for a 5spd, or an s2000 with the 6spd.

Thats why most people wont do automatics, its the transmission that holds them back and its alot cheaper and easier to source parts for the manual tranmission. Hell if anyone watched Pinks all Out, most of those cars are automatic. But automatics are only good for straight line or daily driving, Spoon Sports does like the 2009 Legend (RL) in an automatic but that has a double clutch gear box, other than that you have to take into consideration the current trends of the "import scene" and it seems to be moving towards either VIP, Hella Flush, or motorsports. Automatics wont fair well in a auto x or circuit environment. Thats my take and what i assume people think of automatics when they look poorly on them.

Samurai_Blue I would have to agree with you. The automatics are good for straight line stuff. I know a lot of guys running automatics for drags, not with Honda's, and certainly not stock. But the point still stands. For a DD I prefer to have an automatic. For a toy, I prefer to have a manual. Just the driving styles that I prefer.

I don't see any reason why you shouldn't modify an automatic car, just because it's automatic. It could always be upgraded later, swapped to manual, ect.

ya man its really slow and it gets horrible gas milage too. and it smells kinda rich. what could it be? and its like a little faster if i give it less gas. it seems like its flooding if i give it more in slow speeds,it kinda bogs down. but as it slowly creeps up in speed, it can burn that feul or sumthing. because after its slow increase to about 15-20 it then can accelerate ok. what can i check. what does it sound like:???:

also different thing when i start cold my idle will jump up then down then up then down. and make resistance. what is that? lol

ok i know auto is not to build up. the intention of this post is becaus my integra is like abnormally slow and annoying because people always ride my ass and i cant accelerate. i am broke and had to sell my nice civic to pay court fines. sooo now i bought this 90 doch auto stock integra and its way slower than my 98 soch automatic stock civic. and i think sumthing is messed up read post above

sounds like it's not running right. instead of looking to make it faster with mods, it probably just needs a good service.

Clean your IACV, intake, and whatever else you think it might be, causing it to accelerate slow. This is a routine maintenance in your car, and should be done with higher mileage! I know mine needs all that, so since I can't find a better motor, with less miles, I am going that route! Clean everything up with some simple green, wipe it all out, and enjoy your car, once you put it back together! Auto cars aren't that bad... I had a nice 89 toyota celica for a couple years, and it started getting sluggish, I changed out my fuel filter, and it fixed the issue... It might be a clogged filter! Check that out, also!

i experienced a similar issue on my eg hatch i had a few months ago, O2 sensor was my issue, it was a 5speed, but it had identical performance issue, it's like $40 at checkers, motherf***er never had a blip again, and that was the ONLY thing i did to fix my issue, if thats not it, you've got too much wrong to even waste time and $$$ i'd say leave the keys in it in the ghetto and walk away.....just walk away......call it in a few days later......1000-1500 cash coming your way, then get another one with less issues
