Hey guys, i have another question for you. My b18c1 (GSR motor) is leaking oil in the front left corner (trans side) between the head and the block. What is causing this, could it be a blown head gasket? although the oil in the crankcase looks fine and it doesnt smoke at all. OR is it possible that the head is warped? any help would be much apperciated.

If the leak is coming from the blue arrow then it is your head gasket. But if it's coming higher like around the red arrow, then it could be your cam seal, valve cover gasket, or vtec solenoid.

It probably looks like that, but it is more than likely running down and building up in that spot.

If your headgasket was bad, you would have coolant in your oil, or oil in your coolant. That would result in the oil looking milky.

Its the blue arrow. So do you personally think its my head gasket? and should i resurface the head?

So if you had to take a guess, where is the leak coming from. Becuas that could very welll be true

Ive had that exact same leak in the exact same spot and of course initially thought it was the head gasket.

It was the cam seal and vtec solenoid gasket, both were leaking. I replaced them and guess what? The leak stop and my block has been dry ever since.

Replace those the vtec solenoid gasket first as its easier. If you still are seeing oil there then change the cam seal.

Keep It Clean
get some engine degeaser and clean everything spotless. Run the car on the highway than bring the car back. Youll clearly know where the leak is coming from. Do a compession test and that will tess you everything you need to know about the health of your engine.

Yeah for me, it was a bad head gasket and a minor cam seal. But could be vtec solenoid gasket as well.. Just make sure you check everything

BBHG.. one love.
youd notice if it's your headgasket; overheating, milky oil, white smoke coming out of your exhaust, a distinct antifreeze smell with your heater on. if your integra seems to be running fine, its most likely not your head gasket. check your spark plugs for any coolant and if you're really worried do a compression test. i, as well as about a billion members on this site, have had the same leak in the same area and it was either:

vtec soleinoid gasket
distributor o-ring
valve cover gasket
cam seal leak

^its good to replace all of those anyways and they arent too expensive. i learned all this shit because a shop misdiagnosed me during an inspection and i freaked the hell out and thought it was my HG. did some research, and fixed the problem by replacing all my gaskets.

I already took a guess. Headgasket is always the last thing to do. Its the most expensive repair, and most likely NOT the problem.

See below. I bolded the two things I think are most likely the issue, which I mentioned in my first post.

vtec solenoid gasket
distributor o-ring
valve cover gasket
cam seal leak

when you have leaks like this, will you be able to smell fumes while driving? cuz my 94 integra is leaking oil, and i can smell fumes when i open my sunroof, or drive with the windows open. I can smell it more with the sunroof though. No smoke just a smell. I really dont think i can afford a blown head gasket, im going to check the oil and coolant tomorrow to look for any mixture. the last time i looked, the oil pan was wet with oil too. I didnt want to make a new post cuz there was already a lot of good info on this one. If anyone could help me out id appreciate it.
