Crimestopper Alarms

Are they any good? I searched through the forums and on google, but wasn't able to find a whole lot of information about them. A local shop sells them and does the install. They also sell Viper, but of course they are more expensive.

The two models I am looking at:
SP-101
SP-300 (2way)

Going to get one installed in the morning, and just want to make sure I don't get a POS system.

From the little bit I've been able to find they are legit. There haven't been many reviews, which is the only reason I'm asking. However, the reviews I have found have been very positive. Being on a college student's budget, I'm not sure if the extra $100 or so for the Viper is worth it.

Its not the alarm but the install that makes the alarm work. Also a entry level alarm can be good if the install is right and you have all the need items like the dei 520t back up battery, mini siren in cab. And your kill switches and main siren hidden. If you can see your main siren in the engine bay. So can a theif and he is just going to pop your hood and cut it. Your better off diy the job yourself. Most shops are not going to spend the time to do your car right. They will give you a starter kill and send you on your way. Humm starter kill on a 5 speed. Not a good ideal.

Thanks guys. Got the alarm installed today. Paid the extra $ for a Viper 2-way system. Solid install with hidden wires, but I might move some stuff around (like the siren) that is fairly easily spotted (only took about 5-10 seconds to find it).

It's still another layer that can slow them down.

Not really, The starter is also next to the battery.Just make them pop the hood or push start it. Also the relay they use is right on the ignition harness. DId you add a dei 5120t? You really should because if they pop the hood first and unplug your batttery the alarm will not go off or page.

No. Would that be hard to add myself?
