Radar detectors

Idk if this is in the right place but i was wondering if radar detectors work well at high speeds and give you a signal in time to slow down

Im MEL.
Valentine and Escort are the better ones. but cost a lot. lol

I've used several Cobra Detectors but they do not help at all.

Radar detectors simply detect the bouncing of radar. If you are in an area with decent traffic flow, or things to bounce off of, you generally will have more warning with standard radar. If you're on a straightaway in NO traffic on a road going through like..giant stretches of open land, you wont have warning really. Laser works slightly different, if you're detector sounds off laser, chances are you're fucked. Laser is the sniper rifle sort of radar. It pinpoints, and by the time your detector sounds, your speed is already recorded. Hope that hels..

I hate when people make multiple threads in different sections.

Like I said, it's not fool proof and it's not an excuse to speed.
Get a shitty one like mine so it goes off a lot and keeps you from speeding. :)

i have my cobra radar detector for sale!!!!!!!!!! $50 shipped bought it new for $144 at best buy if your interested

I think placement on the windshield also has a lot to do with it.
I had mine a little below the top and it seemed to go off a lot..
However I just moved it up as far up as I could on the windshield and it works 10x better now.
