New Engine With Turbo

Prozon

Kris
Should I break in the engine before I put a turbo on it? I mean, run 2,000 miles or something before hand? Or should it all go in at once? I can't imagine boost being good for a fresh engine..

yes break it in! You need to let the piston rings settle before you add more compression to them...
I would just daily it for a couple thousand miles, dont go rough on it.
Doesnt take a ase cert to know that

yea you def need to let the rings settle before you boost a fresh engine. any real ase cert would know that, just like any brand new engine you cant go hard on it for the first few thousand miles.

wow who gave you your cert? cause your fucking retarded, your rings usually set around 1,000 miles but normally your engine is considered "broke in" anywhere from 1,500 to 2500 miles depending on the mechanic

and actually if u read any new car mod manual it says up to 5000 to let the car settle and adapt to your personal driving prefference...faggot ass

Prozon: just daily it it gently for 2k miles and then get a comp check, you compression will be alitle low untill your rings settle, once its back up that means the rings are good and setlled

And we dont get our knoledge from manuals, we get it from REAL hands on experience

heh you couldnt have said it better tam, manuals will only teach so much, but actually working on a car and dealing with rebuilding engines and such will give you useful knowledge :thumbs up:
