yea you def need to let the rings settle before you boost a fresh engine. any real ase cert would know that, just like any brand new engine you cant go hard on it for the first few thousand miles.yes break it in! You need to let the piston rings settle before you add more compression to them...
I would just daily it for a couple thousand miles, dont go rough on it.
Doesnt take a ase cert to know that
you just taught me something new.Prozon: just daily it it gently for 2k miles and then get a comp check, you compression will be alitle low untill your rings settle, once its back up that means the rings are good and setlled
heh you couldnt have said it better tam, manuals will only teach so much, but actually working on a car and dealing with rebuilding engines and such will give you useful knowledge :thumbs up:Prozon: just daily it it gently for 2k miles and then get a comp check, you compression will be alitle low untill your rings settle, once its back up that means the rings are good and setlled
And we dont get our knoledge from manuals, we get it from REAL hands on experience
