Removing center console

The boot on my '97 Integra broke loose from under the console. I've taken all the screws out of the console that I can find, but can't remove the console to get access to the boot. does anyone know the secret of removing the console?

are you sure you removed all the screws?


2 under the dash by your feet
2 on the back sides of the armrest
2 under the rectangle cover under the e-brake handle.
unplug the cig-lighter and ashtray light.
unscrew shift knob.



pic up rear section first...the armrest.....make sure it unlocks where the two screws went in the center....pull it straight up....not all the way.....just enough to pull up the e-brake handle........and then just slide it forward towards the windsheild........bam first peice out


slide the part under the radio straight back, then slide to either floor board to clear the handle.




the boot should have either 2 or three screws holding it in.



follow steps backwards for installation.


there used to be a write up on here for how to do it..........if i can remember thats how its done.....maybe be a little wrong or out of order....but you can figure it out

Yeah dude its really easy just make sure you're getting all the screws as described above.

Thanks for showing me where those "Hidden" screws were. How do the cigarret lighter & ash tray light un plug...from the front or back of the console? Thanks

cigarette lighter has a screw in the very back be careful though theres 3 and only one connects to it. and there are 2 clips that are on the cigarette lighter housing. dont lose them. and ummmm. thats it i think

Take the center console out to gain access to the shifter then go from there.
