FITV Block Off?

Basically you'll take the 2 hoses off and just run a new hose to close the circut. Its coolant/heater hose.

You can take the hose from the valve to autoparts store and get a match :)

Wow, fancy. I used to just get a piece of metal, some gasket material, and drill the holes.

You might have to adjust your throttle screw afterward.

Bypass the IACV also. You can remove the bottom plate from the IACV or just leave the lines open. Follow the FITV input to the head and the IACV output to the head and get one long hose to connect them.

Yea I was thinking about this too. If I did that to the IACV, would I be throwing a code after? The FITV doesnt have a code.

sk2 throttlebody get rid of the FITV, you should be fine. The only issue is your throttle body will take longer to heat up and your idle will be needed to be adjusted. If you live in cold areas you may have a problem with your idle at start or throttle sticking.

shouldnt be a CEL cuz the FITV is not connected to any electronics and only 94,95 have this. 96 to 00 dont even have it. No real benifit on getting rid of it but a cleaner look.

Idle may fluctuate when it gets cold on startups. This usually isnt recommended for people who live in colder climates, because the coolant running through there warms up the air for a less lumpy idle.

You could always just put everything back on when its cold, and take it off in the summer, but thats way too much effort for me.

I dont think theres any benefit to this. Its just one of those give or take type deals. Makes it look a little bit cleaner. I put mine on + sealed it with some RTV and it looks fine.

No, it wont throw a code for the IACV.

If you adjust the idle screw afterward according to the manual then you wont get a fluctuating idle.

The benefit is less heat soak to the manifold, along the same lines as when you install a Hondata gasket. In their instructions, they recommend you do this.

After a long drive, pop your hood and feel your intake manifold. It's so hot that you'll burn your hand if you leave it on there. After the coolant bypass and a Hondata gasket the intake manifold is noticeably cooler. What good is your CAI if the intake manifold instantly heats up the air?
