Post your subwoofer location pictures!

I'm going to be installing a sub in my car at some point, and I'd like some ideas about where to put it and what to get to maximize the cargo room still available. At the moment I am considering an Infinity Basslink, but a custom enclosure/setup might be better in terms of space.

Post what you got :)

well if you dont have the spare in you can put it down there, but with a spare i would suggest the gap behind the wheel on either side...idk. DC's probably have better spots...

i say make a custom box to meet your needs :) and depending on the size of the sub will determine where you can put it. any size in mind? budget? there's a sundown 8in sub that would be best it you just want alittle bass and dont want it to take up too much room.

JL Audio makes some nice subs for a real penny.

You get the most bass if you put it just behind the seats and facing your tail lights.

The basslink is pure crap. I used to install them for a living for soccer moms in Jeeps and Minivans. They suck.

For max cargo space you would have a fiberglass box built into the spare tire well. You're able to remove it for long trips where you might prefer to have a spare.

A friend of mine who used to build custom setups for Sony offered to make me some enclosures near where the rear speakers used to be. It's just a matter of getting the money together after I finish school.

That's where I plan on putting it.

Been doing a lot of reading about fiberglass enclosures... Sounds like a lot of fun. I think I might go for that. Thanks!

EDIT: Here's a good DIY guide if anyone else is interested: http://www.gadrivers.net/~dwicker/fiberglass.html

Got mine in!

Pics don't really do justice to how much space is still available. When I put the seats down and move the sub on top of them, I can get a Marshall 1960A 4x12" speaker cabinet, Peavey Windsor amp head, a guitar+case, and two racks full of gear. Perfect setup spacewise.

Sounds great, too. Plenty of bass to piss off the neighbors :D
