I would save up for a good paint job. My uncle had them paint his thunderbird 3 years ago and the paint is already chipping away and clear is peeling off.

Dear lord, aren't you supposed to wait like a day before bumping the hell outta your own threads? I've heard that a mid range MAACO paint job is good only to like..touch over your car in the same color. So to like...repaint in the same color to bring re shine should be fine.

Sup man. One guy on here got his DB done maaco black for like 800 i think. maaco did everything. so it will probably be cheaper if you sand it down yourself, also because you have a coupe.

Then where would you guys recommend just curious? The clear is starting to go on my GSR and it's not as shiny as she once was, even with a good waxing..

go to maaco if you want a color matched muffler.

that would be kinda cool...:p

ima make sure they tape everything off well so nothins fucked up bad...and if it is, then the BAR or w/e its called will be getting a call.

I actually went to maaco on my first teg, my uncle told me to goto this one cause he knew the painter. I had stage 3 paint job, cost $1500, they did a pretty nice job but it only last long, wrecked the teg 2weeks later. They didnt paint muffler :p only took 3pics of the car after paintjob too :(

Gotta remember Maaco is independently owned, so its hit on miss... IMO i would prep it first and than let them prep it, cause if you dont their warranty for the paint is voided, cause you preped the car, and not them.

In general, they do a poor job of prepping for paint, and they use poor quality products that do not last. If you want to have a nice paint job that lasts, then a cheap paint job is not what you want to look for. You surely dont have to spend 10k to get a nice paint job, but come on, a $500 paint special?

You will hear horror stories coming out of MAACO. You may end up finding a good apple in the bunch, but they typically do some really shoddy work and you would be better off finding a real paint shop that does quality work.
