slam a vtec head on ur block and there u go ur gonna go a lil bit faster but plz do not street race:slap:
From my experiance vtec is a little over rated. I've beat b16 swapped hatches, gsr integra, and a b16 coupe. And I have same bolt ons as them.

Stats dont lie.

The GSR head can move more air (33mm Intake valves) and the VTEC lobes are more aggressive than non-VEC cams. Sure you get a little more displacement with a B18A1 or B1 (~1840cc vs ~1797cc) but the VTEC motor makes more HP than the A1/B1 at its peak RPM.

A stock GSR will beat a stock LS everyday given the same circumstances (ignoring human error). 0-60 times prove this as well as 1/4mile times.

I can beat a stock lambo with my stock ls, just gotta run him off the road before he gets above 2k rpm lol.

ehhh not really.

Money solves that problem.
If you wanna go REALLY fast, ull need a LOT of money... I mean, it's really not too ridiculously expensive, but from a high schooler working near minimum wage's perspective, yeah it is a lot....

fact is- 75% of people with "quick" cars do NOT know how to drive well.
my car pulls pretty damn strong for non vtec. Ive driven one identical to mine with out the bolt ons or my ecu and they pull nothing like mine. Mine is tuned to redline at 8000 and in first i pull about about 50mph if i take it to about 7400. Im not saying its "fast" because ive driven several cars that will chew my car up and spit it out. But as much as you can say they wont the few things i have on my car right now make a difference. My car wont b fast till something in december when i tear down the motor, new high comp pistons, rods and main rod bearings b18c head swap, port and polisted with a 4 angle valve job, and my buddy club valves and valve springs go on. Im having her dyno tuned after the build so she will b spot on.

You have to be realistic, our cars are almost 20 years old! Technology never stands still. Our cars are heavy and by todays standards...underpowered. They can be made to handle much better and with better tires, faster take offs from the line. Almost 200 hp from a good 4 cylinder is now almost a norm....mostly with turbo...but very sophisticated cars out there. Feel good about your car, make it yours, no one wins every race...have fun with the guys you race with...toss out ideas to each other...spend wisely, then buy a car like my other, a 2005 Pontiac GTO, 6 speed LS2 all aluminum V8....had it up to 160 in 5th gear, 13.1 first time in quarter with an almost gone clutch and street tires....

As mentioned, headers, exhaust, intake...will help....good tune, proper valve adjustments...good oil...then go turbo...you won't be sorry you did.
