So I got my integra 2 days ago it didn't come with a cd player. So I went to the junk yard and found a perfectly good used one out of a 97 integra ls same as mine. IT comes up with a antitheft function and I'm not sure, the honda/ acura dealer wouldn't give me the code and I even gave them my vin and serial number. Can any of you help me out im going on a trip tm and it would suck wihtout music. serial number 96f30196

why wouldnt they give you the code? do you have a receipt for the part from the junk yard? did you explain to them it was a junk yard part?

Yes I explained it to them and they said since my cars a 94 and the cd player is a 97 they would not give me the code. Also I am a familiar at the junk yard so I guess they thought that I did not need one when I usually just go in take parts pay and leave.

the wiring harness should be the same....the 94-97 chassis are the same exactly....tell them to look at their helms manual and show you there is no difference between the two, I had a 96 dash and a 94 dash both played my deck fine

Maybe this will help
its usually hidden in a couple different places. mine was under the ashtray. also check under your fuse box cover. i cant remember the other places it may be. if you have never needed it before it should be your owners manual.
the code is on a sticker on top of the radio, take it out and the code is right on top, i had th same problem
first of all, i am honda dealer technician
second, there is NO one location to find the code sticker. the sticker is installed by the tech doing the predelivery inspection and the sticker will be wherever he puts it.
Third, the code is NOT related to your VIN#...it is related to the serial number on the bottom of the radio.

So basically, it could be anywhere.

it'd be easier just to go grab a used aftermarket unit, but try calling other honda dealerships. Some are more willing to give you the code than others... The reason they aren't so willing is because you could just be a theif, as far as they're concerned. They CAN look up the code from the vin, but only if the radio is still in the original car, so you really just need to give them the serial on the radio. Also, try radio shops local to honda dealerships. People in audio shops often know/deal with dealership people and they may be able to make a phone call for you....
