valve spring compressor and retainer question.

im looking for a valve spring compressor i can use on my b18a1 head. does any one know which ones work? also, where could i pick up some valve keepers for it.

auto zone for the keepers. the valve compressor is a good question. the one at auto zone wont work, theres one at advance but it didnt work for my head dont know if it will work for yours.

You need something like this. I dont think any compressors you rent from autozone or advance will work on honda motors.

I have no idea. I know I have seen these before, but dont know if there is a separate application dependent on the heads.

I had my machine shop swap out my valvetrain on a bare head (not installed on the car) for $40.

Theres some other contraption that bolts on either side of the head, and has a swing arm type thing to press the spring down. You dont need to move it for every springs, but you need to move it from the intake side to the exhaust side. Couldnt find a picture of it. A person can probably make their own compressor like that if they have some tools and a piece of scrap metal.

If it was me, I would drill new holes with the correct spacing the bolt into the head. But then again that compressor is like... $70.

One could be fashioned out of some steel and threaded with a tap. You would need something else with a window the place the keepers in, but thats what an imagination is for.
