which of the short shift would make the shifter physically shorter?

heres some info

Most people after they install a short shiftter try to shift just as fast, but fail to understand they are FORCING the tranny to shift 50% faster. This is were the synchro/shifter fork breakage occurs.

Never heard of a short throw shifter breaking a trans.... Like coy said, it's the driver who is abusing/ using the shifter improperly

A short shifter is not needed at all, it's more personal preferance. I had a short shifter and it felt like shit to me, I know other people that felt the same. All of which went back to OEM shifters and poly bushings.

A lot of lightweight flywheels are too light for street cars, go research the cons of them. Lightest I would go is to an ITR which is 14 lbs.

short shifters do nothing to your tranny. All a true short shifter does is change the fulcrum point on the shifter making your throw shorter. It travels the same length to engage the gear, having no effect on your syncronizer or forks.

I know it's personal preferance but was just wondering why you don't like such. And I know about light weight flywheels and streetabilty. For some reason I thought you were more of a track person

I will be more of a track person, eventually. I'm building my teg to street and maybe some autocross. It's my first car, so trying to just make it tasteful. I had a short shifter, just wasn't as smooth as I liked.

I have a single bend and it sits at about tock height with my shift knob. Ive got a roku off of ebay with urethane bushings and its great. just as good as buying a skunk 2 or b&m. Only 10 bucks. Its smooth as butter in every gear

buying a cheaper version of a shifter has a higher breaking percentage than the name brand ones due to the materials used. thats why they're so cheap. they either break at the pivot point or at the threads where the shift knob is.

the reason why they're called a short throw shifter is because a shorter throw into gears. not because they're just physically shorter.
