Installing short shifter...

Is it a pain in the but to do? I heard something about having to remove apart of my exhaust just to get to it from below. Is it worth the effort to do it myself or should I take it to a shop. I have some mechanical skills but not that much.

lol, if you cant take an exhaust off, you dont have very many mechanical skills... its like 5 bolts. (as long as its not stock equipment still... lol)

they arent hard to do, climb under there and unbolt

Well got under there and couldn't take the exhaust off, First off the cat is complete stock, and second the screws connecting the cat to the system were so rusted that they wouldn't budge. Looks like I might have to take it down to a shop but they just told me that they wanted 175 for the whole thing, It looked really easy if I were able to get to get the damn exhaust off.

I actually just finished it, I removed the entire system up until the headers and it came out just fine. Installing the thing was a pain in the butt at a few times but it is running like a champ, The problem was that the shifter colum or whatever was rubbing against the heat sheild so I had to beat that out a little bit. Later on when I get the money I am gonna buy a new cat, Any suggestions on a good one for a fair price?

just get a 2.5 inch ca back and 86 the cat. then get a 4-1 header that has the down pipe. lol thats what i would do.
yeah i had to cut the bolts on mine. i tried an emence amout of break-a-way and they still wouldnt budge so i grabbed a saw and did work lol.

2.5 inch is a larger diameter than he needs unless he has built up the internals of his motor. 2.25" or 2.36" will do just fine.
Most 4-1 headers(if not all) wont work on the 90-93 Integras because the collector wont clear the cross member. To run a 4-1 header with a 2.5 inch collector you have to either notch out the cross member(I don't recommend that) or get a traction bar from someone Like ETD Racing.

Hey how did you remove the rusted bolts in ur exhaust? I ran into the exact problem on my axleback portion of the exhaust and its so fucking tight or rusted on there that me and my buddy bent the fucking bolt. I ordered a catback and i just want to run muffler-less for the time being. Howd u get the bolts off??
