will this head work with the block? if so what kind of modification would i need to do so it runs clean?

Use a b20 head gasket.

And congratulations, you just picked up the best flowing Non-VTEC head at an excellent price. I paid $160 for mine.

They only came on Honda Orthia's which were station wagon like cars in another country. You will only find it here in the states where the motor was imported.

its it workth 250$ for all of all of that?
No. And you would need verification that its a P8R head anyways. Every motor produced overseas is not the special P8R head. They still sold P75 and PR4s out there.

The only way I would pay that much for one, would be if it was fresh out of a machine shop, all of the valves were straight, the head had been resurfaced, and valve guides replaced.

The b20 is a good motor for a replacement. The only down fall is the valves float in the head. I put 10 b20b's into integras now. I like using the ls head on them myself. All you should have to do will be use a 97 crv timing belt, plugs and headgasket. I get the b20b's imported for $400 good motors, use your factory p75 ecu as well.
