So im new to the site AND new to honda! woo me.

Was a mazda guy, got sick of the rotory and decided to buy a 95 grs b18c1 with some slight mods,
full dc exhaust and headers
and some cold air intake, not sure of the brand.
and some sweet yellow rims. ha.......................................

I got a good deal on this. But knew i had several problems. I got it with a cracked radiator and with a bad idling problem. Put a single core radiator in it and still pondering on the idling problem.

but i drove for two weeks and ran into a HUGEEEE problem.

im getting a horrible tick. bad. and when i cross over sounds like im getting some crazy valve lift/ a crotch rocket under my hood. It's full of oil. Im getting a code 3 and a code 12 which im sure is the solution to my idling problems.

but any suggestions????

Make sure your timing isn't off by a tooth, and adjust valve clearances. Thats what fixed it for me.

Get a filler gauge and a Valve cover gasket.

Park the car for 24hrs and do the valve lash adjustment. You can get the specs for the valve-lift and exhaust-lift online.

Since your cracking your valve cover off, chances are your valve cover gasket is dried out and ready to replace.

Welcome to Club Integra, and sweet DC2 man!

Make an intro thread bro. If you post in someone elses thread I won't say welcome to you, because its not your thread.

All noobs should post an introduction thread with the car they own or what they're in the market for, and quick discription of the person wouldn't hurt.

hahaha i know........ its on my to do list. i like batman and apparently gucci mane has a rap about yellow rims, but they gotta go.

goal is to get it running good and then clean it up. it has some rust, bad quarter panel, and the front end looks like a dumb ass put it on.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!

time to go pull it apart......

Check the valve lash before you pull the timing cover off to check the timing. More often than not the valve clearances will be out of spec and just need a little fine tuning.
