I'm new to this, but has had my acura for 4 years and am wondering if this 2nd generation car has a hot cold switch (what i'm told it's called)? Is this what helps the car warm up? I have to warm up this car forr 10 to 15 minutes or it will cut off. What other problem could this be?

Tell me more about this switch? is it a located on the dash?

Replace the thermostat. That is soppos to trap the water in the block untill fully warmed up, than the stat opens up to let the Rad' water flow thru the engine.

Idk if you want the car to warm up in minutes..mine doesn't. I let the car idle for atleast 5-7minutes. Its a good habbit

Thanks for the reply. I have since replaced the thermostat and the coloant sensor. Sounds like from what your saying is that this is just one of those cars that take longer to warm up than others. Im ok with that I just was concerned that the car had issues since i bought it used. Car runs like new now.

Thx Much
