Intro/ Electrical Question

Hi Everyone!

My name is Kimo. I recently purchased a 90 Intregra LS for 600. DA owners, WHATTUP!!! The car's body is in great shape, as well as the interior. PICS Later

My question is in regards to the electrical system. The car wont start all of the time...It turns, but i dont think the fuel pump is switching on...aside from that problem, the seat belt motor on both passenger and driver side arent functioning. Also, the fan wont kick on, and i know they work, cause my buddy wired em to be on all the time when the car is on..The AC and Cruise Control arent working either.

any ideas of what could be going on??

Regards

Dude sounds like my car lol sounds to me like fuses

and oh yeah... Welcome to CI!

Your fuel pump problem could be a bad main fuel relay

Same with the fans, if he bypassed the relays there wouldn't be a problem but if they're still in the wiring, they could be bad.

Check your fuses and then report back

Good luck!

A/C and Cruise would be fuses, the Fan would be a relay in the engine compartment fuse box (at least in 3rd gens).

Seat belt issue
Its covered under the lifetime warranty for the car, but you may need to pay for labor. You can bring it to the dealer.

Check all fuses. And like stated above your no start issue could be due to main relay. When they are old heat affects them. Your fans now working could be due to a bad fan switch or power supply. A/c may not be functioning due to wiring or low pressure. Bad pressure switch a lot of things could be causing the issue.

Thanks for the input! Will check the fuses when I go back to my parents house this week and report back.

mirrorimg: Thanks did not know that! My Mom had a 91 LS that had the same problem when I was young. He'll probably be mad when I tell him that was under warranty lol

Pulled the main relay tonight. Looks like it needs to be replaced. Gonna try O'Reilley in the morning.

Which fuse box (or fuse) should i be looking for? Sorry Im a rook when it comes to these DA's..

The fan relays aren't in the fuse box in a 2nd gen. They're right on top of the fan with all the wiring, or maybe slightly to the side

Changed out the main relay today. Starts right away.. Still cant figure out why my interior fan wont blow at all, with ac on, heater on, or just fans... Checked all the fuses... all are good..

Did you check your fan relays? You said that someone wired them to be on whenever the car is on buuuuuut if you were mistaken and he didn't do that and your engine temp sensor was bad they wouldn't turn on.

And if they are wired normally, they won't turn on the second you start the car. They wait until the car reaches a certain temp. and then they turn on and off intermittently

Where is the main relay for the cooling fans (radiator)? Cause the cooling fans kick on.

What I was referring to in my last post was my interior (A/C/Heat) fans wont blow.

Maybe Im confused. Is there a separate unit for cooling the radiator and a separate one for the interior??

ohhhhhhhhhhhh  my b

your a/c fan unit thing (I can't remember the name of it ) under the dash that has the fan could be:
1. Clogged by a rats nest or something (i had to clean one of those out in somebody's accord last week)
2. bad fan
3. fuse or switch or wiring

that's what I can say to the best of my knowledge

Kinda bad cause those fans aren't meant to be running the entire time the car is on but as long as you don't find replacing them when they poop put on you it's all good. All it does it wear out the fan motors.

I'm still having my brain fart and I know exactly where it is and what it looks like but I can't remember the name  It's directly under the dash on the passengers side as far close to the side of the car as you can get.

I'll see if i can take a decent pic of it for you
