stock turbo gsr vs e85

I am a turbo freak :P
I am currently running a stock gsr with a turbo setup on 10 psi on pump gas and was thinking of swtiching over to E85 and am just wondering how much more boost can I run safely with E85?

You would need to get re-tuned to run on a different fuel. Your tuner will be able to safely judge what changes need to be made for the most power. I dont think you should exceed what you are at now on stock internals. You are pushing the limit of your motor if you go for anymore.

Its not a matter of boost, actually E85 has a higher resisitance to things like knock and lowers cyl temps. So really you could actually got for more boost. But honestly id stick with the same boost level, 10psi on pump and 10psi on e85 are two different beasts.

Your issue is fuel. You will need a retune and a fuel system that can support at LEAST 33% more fuel then your running now.

But once you switch you will love it, its a great fuel for an engine, especially a boosted engine. I should know, I run it.....

If you have any questions feel free to ask and i'll try to help you out.

Most of the lines are metal now adays. And I know the teg is metal. So really the only rubber you have is a sort length at the fuel pump and from the metal lines to the rail. And the lines today are ment to take about 20% ethanol. So running E85 there is still 15% normal fuel to lubricate the pump/injectors/lines, so really it should be fine for a long while.

750 should be plenty to get the job done then, so long as your not using a big snail. I know on mine im runing 750's on a tiny 13T and have about 20% headroom on my 750's. And thats with the turbo MAXED, like 25psi maxed.

yea im running a big 60 trim snail haha
Totally missed that avatar pic. Well you can always tune and just stop when you reach the limit of the injectors. But I dont think 750's will cut it to get the full potential out of your set-up. But even if you do have to lower the boost you will still be making more on less boost with E85.

Hey Speedin, I am getting 1000cc bosch injectors, when i get my turbo what else do i need to run all e85? Its a fully built motor, i have regulators and walbro pump.

im aware.
I know, I was just making it clear to all who look at the thread.

Its not really difficult to switch to ethanol. Really you just need add about 30-40% more fuel to your set-up. More headroom is always a good thing with injectors. And it sounds like you have the fueling system down.

If I had to really simplify it it would be this:

- 30-40% more fuel
- Tune

So so long as your not going with a gigantic turbo I think 1000's should be fine.

Ok cool so as long as i have those 1000's i should be fine. I am going to be running a Garrett T3/T61 .63 trim

Thanks for your assistance dude.
