waxing your windshield/windows?

hey i heard id u wax your windows and windshield it'll make the rain bead off like rain x....true or not? (using normal carwax..the paste kind.

Manual car wash's have an additive that's mixed with water/soap/wax. After you rinse off that, the water glides off your paint/windows.

Wax on the windows would probably leave them blry and hazy...I've never tried it before so I could be 100% wrong

I waxed my windshield and it came out clear. It doesn't work as well as rian x but it gets the job done

Dude I've done it before and it does work lol, I drove from SD to Rancho Cucamonga without my windshield wipers in the rain :lol:

I do it once a month and I think that its better than rain x.... Just be sure that you really rub it in, and be sure to get it all off

Seems to last for a while to, bout a month or so....guess it depends on how much you use your wipers/wash your car

clean the outside of your windows with glass cleaner and steel wool, coat with paste, let sit for an hour or so, buff clear, works like a charm.

Wow i really need to do this. didnt have my wipers on cause i was painting them. then washed my car and started to drive like 50 to dry it off. I didnt wipe the windshield and i couldnt see shit. almost died lol. Meguiars is always a good brand though.

You can save yourself a ton of work with the paste wax and just get the Maguiar's spray detailing wax in a maroon bottle and use that right after you wash and dry your car. I use it every time I clean my car and it works better than Rain-X. It saves you a lot of time and effort that you would put in with the paste and works just as well.

please dont use rain x idky but it leaves some spots some times it looks like shit and you will hate ur self sor life i wax all my ext windows but also use steel wool on them or razors DO NOT USE STEEL WOOL/RAZORS ON TINT,OVER DEFROST STRIPS, AND MIRORS PLZ but i just do them that way so they are clean and no streaks
