LS block or USDM ITR Block

Both are sleeved and going to have CP pistons put in, its just a matter of what setup is going to work best for real good numbers. Holding up is important too. But like the title says, i have a LS block and a B18C5, both with a GSR head, which one is best for boost? Most Reliable?

O also, would it just as good if i took the ITR crankshaft and put it in the LS block? with the ITR rods obviously. Or is that not possible? Thanks guys

If it was me I would put the LS crank and rods into the C5 block and use that block. This will eliminate the extra oil line for LS-vtec, keeps the C5 dowel pins, uses the C5 main girdle and keeps the 89mm stroke from the LS. I always feel that the simpler the setup the less that can go wrong.

what are your power goals? what do you want out of the motor? given the bottom ends are both built like you said, and given you have a good tune, you shouldnt have any problems running either when it comes to boost. i know of many guys running stock bottom end boosted ls motors, all of them averaging around 300 whp as daily drivers.

ls has longer stroke for torque but if your going to build them either way you might as well just match the b18c5 with the vtec head you have to you dont have to worry about plugging the head and running another line for oil. besides everybody would rather see type-r turbo over lsvtec turbo.

B18C5 block. It's stronger than the LS, you don't have to run LSV kit, and the crank and rods can handle higher RPMs.

ok sweet, thanks for all your input it was exactly the answers I think I was looking for. I ropped the C5 block off n should hav it all back in about 2 weeks or so. The same shop does some sort of chrome spray, so I was havin them work on the valave cover. I kno it's gonna b colors chrome, but not sure on the color yet. So I'll try n post pics when I get the motor dropped in, but iv never been able to so lol thanks again guys.
