Replaced Stolen Distributor, Will not start with new one. 93 Integra

Thats right, some one stole the distributor outta my 93 Integra LS. When they did so, they even clipped both electrical connectors, so all I have left is bare wires, no connectors at all.

Anyway, I paid for a new complete distributor assembly (cap, rotor, everything) and proceeded to install it. I had to connect all wires individually.

Once I got it in, I tried to start it. It will start to fire and then nothing. Every time I turn the ignition over, it will try to fire and give up, like its losing spark, or runs out of fuel to ignite. I checked for spark and everything seems good and I have fuel at least to the fuel filter. I have double and triple checked the wires to be sure they are in order. Like I said the weird thing is that it will act like its gonna start up once every time I turn over the ignition, but after that when I keep it held over it won't do nothing, but once I return it to 0 and try again, it will try to fire again. My CEL goes off like it should after 2 seconds when the fuel pressure is primed.

I have tried spraying starter fluid in the trottlebody and that seems to make it want to run more, but not that much better.

I also tried reading the codes from the ECU (which I could be doing incorrectly being that I have never done it before) by using the LED on the ECU itself. When I first turn the key to on, it flashed fast once and then never again until I turn the key to off (which it flashes once fast again).

To try to sum up the issue---Replaced distributor (all wire individually connected), is getting spark to spark plugs, will act like its gonna start and never fully catches. Acts as though it is not getting fuel, but has fuel to service bolt on fuel filter.

Hopefully that not too much or too little info. Car ran fine before distributor was stolen, but had sat for a month while I was waiting to get time to fix cv shaft.

Any ideas?

I am positive the firing order is correct, assuming that the tech manual is (1-3-4-2), which should be a safe assumption.

As far as the CEL light (which as I said I could be doing wrong, so please correct me) --- From what I read on reading the ECU, if you use the actual led on the ECU, you shouldn't need to jump the connector, but thats where I could be wrong. I was under the impression that jumping the connector sends the info to CEL light.

When I mentioned the CEL light in the first post, I was only stating that as far as normal operation, it seems as though it is ok, (turns off when the fuel pump does after 2 seconds on before continuing to turn the starter), not that I had used for the diagnostic info (which again, I used the LED on the ECU). The CEL doesn't stay on.

Sorry if I am being redundant, just trying to be clear, but sometimes I know that can make things worse.

I think I might know my problem and I will be the first to call myself an idiot for this one...

Its actually a 91 integra LS, not 93, and the new distributor is for a 93. Please tell me that they interchange.
If not, thats what I get for forgetting to double check before installing.

After this Im going back to pre-70's cars. Don't get me wrong, still love the integra, I just know more about muscle cars.

Well, the last time I checked, if not a Vtec, the 93 Acura Integra has the same Timing and firing order as the 90,91,92. and that firing order is incorrect. Fist before U even think of the firing order, Ill need the wiring replaced for the dist where it was cut, non of that splicing bullshyt. it will only cause problems, so replace it. Then once that is done, the dist will plug back into the new plugs u just installed, and the firing order is that the piston farthest away from the dist is #1 and the firing order actually goes in order like this. The first piston spark plug goes on the bottom Left of the dist, then number # follows that clockwise the whole way around to #2 the left top, #3 the top right and then #4 the bottom Right. and thats it.
P.S Make sure that all fuses and check the Voltage coming out of the distributor since there was a theft, they could have shorted out a wire by cutting them with the battery attached!

If you have a 91, then your OBD0, and if the distributor is from a 93, then it's OBD1. That would be your problem. Need to find a distributor from a 90 or a 91

yea they have different resistors on them, also make sure u have a nice connector on it since they cut yours, because when i first changed mine out the connector i put on wasnt a good fit and it wasnt getting a good enough connection to turn it over but it would try like yours, so those are ur two probs if you got it from an auto store it should be easy enough to return and get the correct one
