"Trying to sell a '92-'96 Acura Integra YS1 transmission with cable clutch. If Intrested please e-mail me with your name and a phone number/e-mail, somewhere i can reach you at, and i will get back to you as soon as i can. I check my email constantly throughout the day so it shouldnt take long from the time you email me to contact you." $80

looking for a new tranny for my b20b.
does this sound alright and what do i check for when buying a tranny? =\

what else would i need to do to work on my b20b.

$80 for a YS1 sounds iffy...sounds like there might be a problem with it.Then again, for $80, buy it and have it rebuilt with an LSD and you'll be golden.
Also, cable clutch transmissions weren't in Integras after 93.

Well the trans only came in USDM 92-93 GSR and there is a JDM counterpart that came in Civics over in Japan I think. People use this trans because it handles a lot of abuse. However, if it's been abused, it could be costly to have it rebuilt. If it's grinding, you may just need new synchros, but if the synchros are going bad the synchro sleeves probably need to be replaced too. If it's popping out of gear, then the gear may need to be replaced.

If you look here...

You'll see how much the kits cost, with a "master rebuild kit" being the most at $795. However the rebuild kit doesn't include new gears. They also rebuild transmissions for a little over $1,000 including replacing any "hard parts" that are worn. So basically they put in their own master rebuild kit and charge you $400 for labor. I will say they sound like they know what they're doing. The guy that runs this place, David, is one of the founders of Gearspeed, and they resell the transmissions he builds for a steep increase($1,900 for the exact same transmission). You can also get the carbon synchros from them as a matter of fact they come in the rebuild kits. Hope this helps.
