At first I thought I just sucked at driving and just grinded cause I'm a noob and then I would get so mad.

same as everyone else here i got it too... i just got my first car which is a 92 da9 LS, and it grinds in 3rd, and my friend said that its because its a cable clutch thats why it grinds, but i dont know anything other than that. it would do it only when i rev it higher than i usually do when driving normally, because under normal driving, it doesnt do it, only when i race the engine

That's how mine started its ur syncros going out. Not cause ur cable clutch. Ur just at the start

you probably shouldn't be racing if you can't figure out why you're grinding in third. I replaced all my syncros with brass and carbon syncros a while ago when grinding was an issue.

For now, just double clutch. I did it for months just to save third gear.

I get that exact same problem on third as well. My tranny also grinds when I put it on reverse. It just happens when I turn it on. I usually pump the clutch a couple of times and then place it on reverse and it wont grind then. Is it possible that bad synchros cause that too??
go 1st then reverse. use the syncro from 1st to go into reverse.

the reverse problem could also be clutch spool down time issues caused by a mal adjusted clutch i.e. too tight check your pedal play if it is a cable clutch. also has anyone try lucas oil stabilizer on here works wonders in my offroad rig couldn't downshift to first for nothing, i put that stuff in and sooo much better.. just some food for thought
