Why insurance so cheap?

Everyone who is on their parents insurance need to get your own policy, regaurdless if you wait til you're 20,23,25 when you first get your own policy you are going to pay higher rates! Doesn't matter if huge had your license 20 years wth no accidents or tickets, you're a new customer, and will be paying a higher rate.

I went on my own policy at 18, my rates are lower than 98% of everyone I know my age. They all stays on their parents for a bit thinking they'd save money, that's not how it works

Fair enough guys, as for location I'm down in southern New Hampshire. Not much theft down here which is good. But I feel that 1200 a year is a fair price for a 17 year old. No accidents caused by me, no tickets yet either. My insurance is with Pierless which is a company off of Liberty Mutual. Like a younger brother where its almost identical coverage jsut less money.

99 GSR Through my dad's is $1200 a year. That covers everything except me causing an accident. I have to fix my car in that case..Damage from others, theft, glass break, hail, hitting animals, towing is all covered with that 1200.

pretty sure you have your coverage mixed up.

liability (basic coverage) will cover the expenses of fixing SOMEONE ELSE car when you hit them

when someone hits you- THEIR insurance pays to fix your car

if you had full coverage, and you hit a sign/pole- your insurance would cover it

liability will NOT cover your car in an accident if you're at fault- whether it be with an object or other vehicle.

that's how it is in jersey, and i dont see how much it can really change state to state

bitching about $90 a month?

fuck me running.. what I would do for that.
try like $4000 a year minimum if you're a male under 25?

It really depends on your record, age, car, and the company.
you can literally shop around the internet for car insurance with 1 click and get like 5 quotes from different companies.

I meant if I hit others, they'll fix there car, if I spin out of control and roll my car, it's on me. Except for hitting animals, they'll fix that. My bad.

It also depends on how long you been with a specific company
Exactly, my dad's been with USAA for a good 30 years now, plus we have several cars, but when I move onto my own policy, I'm auto-accepted into USAA, they have some like "Members for life" guarantee thing.

Get onto your own policy asap. The longer you hae your own policy the better your rates will be. And wih usaa your rates will not be much more than what you're paying on your parents.
