i asked inlinePro about the mounting issues and they said the difference between the trannys don't matter with my mounting system.

There is a difference in the housing of K20a trannies and k20z trannies.

The weakness is in all K-series transmissions. The second gear goes bad because people power shift too much. i was looking at a aftermarket 1st and 2nd gear but haven't decided on anything yet.

Still need an LSD.

If you want custom gears, MFactory is the way to go. Those guys are legit.

mfactory doesn't have k series gears. they only have final drives, last time i checked. The plan is still a 5.0 final drive with tsx 6 gear. This setup is pretty agressive on 16 inch wheels.

Just bought my coswrth s2000 headgasket in 88mm bore and .38mm thickness.

Also, ordered all new OEM engine gaskets, oil pump, water pump, oil timing chain, timing chain tensioner and timming chain.

Really want to assemble my engine this weekend but the gun show is in town.

Bout time i give this thread an update.

Once again...behind schedule. This is is of last priority so it often gets put off until time is free.

Well i not like I've been sleeping under a rock for the last couple of months. I just haven't been working on my car.

Summary...
1. Did an emergency LS swap in my brother's EK because the D15 died.

2. Helped with a GSR motor rebuild.

GSR back in the bay.

3. Lots of Family Reunions and jingle bell events(I'm hmong, we have lots of these)

4. My brother bought another EK.

5. Finally had some time to play with the motor.
The head is completely together(pics later)
The block bearings are checked for tolerance(on the loose side of OEM Specs, which is good for this build) and CP Piston recommendations are used for the ring gaps.

No one around my town has a piston ring gapping tool. So i had to special order one!!!

There are only two pistons in the block right now. I broke two of the oil piston rings during installation. Me = Fail for now. Just ordered new piston rings from CP and should arrive next week. Things have some lint on them but will be cleaned again before final assembly.

Crank Shaft is in and two piston are in. Close up!!

And Me having a good time measuring piston ring clearances.

Hopefully more updates will follow faster this time around.

spent some much needed time on my engine this past week. All bolts torqued down to spec with a Snap-On electronic torque wrench. As you see, it is complete internally but still needs some external work.

did i every mention that this is my first engine build? Well, now you know.

and NO i am not sponsored by InlinePro so i will be taking their logo off the fuel rail in no time. Just test fittings it there. I guest this is honorable mention for them.

your good at catchings stuff like that.

There is no "off the shelf" piping or parts that will work with my setup. Not even a turbo manifold. That's why i bought a TIG Welder from Meller. Just going to have to make everything myself; turbo manifold, piping, intercooler and radiator if i want my V-mount setup. If i go with a normal before and after setup like most street cars then i still need custom intercooler.

Found the camera!!! it was in my car which my parents took for the day.

My money shot.

As you can see there is plenty of space for a turbo setup. OHHH YEAAAHHHHHH :D
