I recently picked up a ls/turbo, stock internals, aem fuel rail, msd ignition. It ran at about 12psi under full boost. Now it runs between 16-18psi. It was tuned with an apexi avc. How do i turn it down with the controller?

The apexi shouldn't adjust boost, you should have an electronic or manual boost controller somewhere.

Yeah and if he doesn't, it sounds like he's getting relatively bad spikes.

Are you referring to the AVC or AFC? As in AVC-R or SAFC?

The AVC-R is an electronic boost controller and has no tuning capabilities. The SAFC is a piggyback fuel correction device that has no control over boost.

And of course you do not want to be running that much boost on a stock LS. I'd stop driving it till you get that worked out so you don't blow it up.

Depends on which system he actually has. I suppose we don't know if it was a typo and he meant AFC or if he meant AVC-R

I just assumed he meant afc since he was talking about tuning.

It is an acv-r i have the manual and i have tinkered with the boost duty and stuff. it said it adjusts the boost. but it makes no difference. maybe my wastegate is too small?

i would run a comp and leak down test to make sure everything still alright. running that high of boost can cause damage, A/F mixture isnt gonna be there if it was boosting that high. Cracked ring lands, or melted piston, scared walls.

But if you dont see any smoke you should be alright. But just do a check for the ease of mind.
