if you do go lsvtec heres a basic list you'll want to do
-b16 or gsr head
-arp head studs
-golden eagle lsvtec kit
-gsr/type r water pump/timing belt
-gsr/type r oil pump
-Arp rod bolts, this is not ALWAYS necessary, i've known people to run lsvtec without it and have no problems, but most would recommend it if you're going to rev that block to 8k
-for tuning purposes you'd want to convert to obd1 if your car is a 90-91, which means you'll need an obd1 dizzy, jumper harness, and ecu
-if you do go lsvtec, i would HIGHLY recommend not using an ls transmission, change to either a b16 or gsr cable, unless you want to go the hydro route, get the hydro conversion and do that

This list is just off the top of my head, if anything is incorrect let me know

hey duma.. does the OBD1 B18a1 block has the knock sensor already? or it only comes on the B18b1? and one more thing, will the non-vtec distributor work on a Vtec head?..

Mildsquare

From the bay to LV
non vtec Distributor will work with a vtec head, you just have to cut off the ear closest to the vtec solenoid. for all it's trouble you're better off using a vtec distributor.

ls/vtec then turbo. everyone i talk to say ls/vtec is the way to go especially if ur going to turbo later. im going to do it asap

I had a semi built LSV in my DB1 and Ricky outran a boosted DC4 in it between my house and his one night. It was pretty quick for what it was, and LSV is not as unreliable as some say. It's all about how you build it, care for it, and drive it.

first off vtec is nice but over rated.. secondly who ever said vtec + turbo is great is retarded and shot be shot and put out of there misery.. all vtec does is open up your valves more to allow more air/fuel to enter the cylinder and if you dont do it right when you slap a turbo on it you can say good bye to that head and possibly the block as well because your forcing way to much air into a small space

That's what proper tuning is for...

What are you talking about? More air equals more power, it doesn't matter how it gets there. Having vtec is not going to cause your motor to blow up any more or less. Just about every new car on the market has variable valve timing systems, I think that should tell you something.
