Too bad you don't live closer to me, I'd take that thing off your hands. Please don't junk it, sell it as a shell on Craigslist or something.

the turbo and the injectors are about the only thing you can use off it.... I dont know about the ic, but maybe if you do some fabbing. those have a sidemount, dont they?

Wouldn't replacing the timing belt and doing a compression check first make more sense?

If it is stock, the only thing really worth using on something else is the BOV.....I would keep the 6-bolt block and 1G head too, but that's just me.

eh hes prolly looking at some bent rods and some gouged pistons depending on how high the engine was rev'd when the belt snapped.. my friends 90 civic with a b16a1 had the timing belt snapped and it fucked over the whole head...

He may be looking at those things, but you never know. That is worst case scenario and nothing more than a guess. Usually the result is just some bent valves. I've also seen many a 4G63 snap a timing belt and not have any contact. My GS-T snapped one and walked away fine.

I'm with Kyle on this one. He most likely doesn't have a bent rod. Most likely he just needs new valves to replave those that bent.
When the tbelt on my 90 TSi snapped I bent some valves but that was it. I would pull the head and check everything out before I just tossed. Those motors are getting harder and harder to come by every day.

haha...most of the time the rods and pistons jam into the valves. well i took the plugs out and they are spaced perfectly. there are no marks on the pistons from the valves but most of the time the valves are bent. i think i am going to take the head off first. the reason i was going to part it out was i work full time, go to college and the body is all rust so ill need to get a new body here soon. money is not flowing abundantly since college takes most of it. but ya i know what you mean the 4g63t is very expensive..i will update when i know more.

DSM's are only pos's when you don't take care of them. They are like a GF, treat her right and she will gladly give you wot, mistreat her and you will def get screwed over. just fix it. Would be cheaper than boosting the DA.

Very true.
I think a lot of times DSMs get a bad reputation for breaking down a lot. Often I find that it's not the machines fault. It is the owner cutting corners on the build that causes the issues. This is true with any car, with DSMs you see it more often becuse it is probably the most affordable AWD Turbo application that the average Joe can afford.

well its also because with most hondas/acuras you can get away with a few things. with dsms you cant afford to do that but it also goes into the safety shutoff. when a timing belt brakes more time then not your in trouble. could be said with any car though i suppose. i am gonna stick with my acura though!!!
