Thanks everyone!! Tomorrow I'll be finishing it up so i'll be sure to post up a pic of the final product when she's all shiny and puuurrrrrdddyyy haha. But it'll be another couple of days until i get it on the teg since i still havent gotten my new seal yet

for the letters, get a sanding block and get a few different grits of sandpaper. Be VERY careful around the rest of the paint on the valve cover. Start with maybe 300grit to get the paint/primer off. then repeat on the letters with finer and finer grits (400, 500, 800, 1000, on and on) until the letters look as smooth as you want them to look. you can apply a little metal polish to the letters from that point, and wipe any excess off the paint.

BANG, sexy smooth polished letters. The valve cover would DEFINITELY look a lot better with polished letters.

Just sanded the lettering (knicked a spot of the white the i had to touch up under the D, which pissed me off)

Sprayed the last coat of clear on it

not too bad...i def would have taken more time taping it off.....but the sanding of the letters def takes time for it to look right....take your time with a dremel...tape off around the letters next time and that will help out with not touching the paint.

I liked it too but it would have chipped really easily. The gloss is growing on me a lot though, the green looks sick
