Sigh... Just go to a place that installs alarms and ask them, I wouldn't cheap out tho buy a decent one, I got a viper 2-way pager, killswitch, auto door lock, and remote start for about $560 on sale, expect to pay around 350 up if u want a decent alarm/pager

i don't mean to be a a thread stealer but since we're talking about alarms and it might help TS a bit since i have the same problem.

are Cliffords good? i'm thinking about the 12.5x 2-way with remote start and it sells for $250.

j13, Hornet is made by DEI, I might be able to tell you where the wires should go. What color are the two cut wires? Can you see the brain? What model # is it?

INtegraaa, an alarm is one place you don't want to go cheap on, or you'll get what you pay for from the installer, installation-wise. An alarm's not much good if a thief can disable it in a minute or two. If you want an inexpensive alarm, find one that only has 100-200 ft range instead of ones that have over a mile range. I like DEI, I won't install anything else in my own cars. I have installed Compustar's and they're not bad, I just prefer DEI because I'm more comfortable installing them, I know more about them than I do Compustar.

Hey what's up TegSox! Well the Model is:719T

This is what the kit looks like. I found this image on another site.

Their is a Orange Wire that has been capped off by a plastic delete, and a half Black half Red wire going no where, it comes out the speaker itself not thru the harness.

I think the main curcuit board in located inside the speaker. There is a harness that plugs into the speaker itself and it goes thru the firewall of the car..

Sorry for the thread high-jack :(

It looks like from that pic there's two orange wires, but I know one of them would go to a starter kill relay. The black and red wire must go to the siren (the speaker). Sounds like the alarm's been properly disabled, because it wasn't working right or at all, I'd guess.
Honestly j13, that is a really, really basic, low end alarm. It's old (late 1990's), and has a 100 ft maximum range, which is as short as it gets. It's probably not worth the money to pay someone to get it working properly. It was bypassed and disabled for a reason, I think I'd toss it if I were in your shoes and start fresh with a modern unit.
