So i was going through this DIY thread on Honda-tech (link below) and it seemed fairly easy except for when i try to remove it, its such a tight fit! Im currently stuck at the point where im trying to get the hoses off. I can almost garuntee that the previous owners never touched this. so its been sitting for 19 years with it on. i dont know what to do . . . help? Its on a 92 DA btw. Thanks ahead of time.

Get a small flathead screw driver and try to wedge it in between the the hose and the opening. Wiggle it around and then try to pull it off. If that doesn't work and nothing else it working then just cut it off and then replace the hoses.

i just had to change mine out, but for a second option, use needle nose it will be a lil tuff and you will spill some coolant on the hose closes to the throttlebody... just an fyi

Just got through doing mine to fix the idle surge problem. I wasn't real keen on trying to get those hoses off without damaging them, so I just cleaned it still hooked up. The screen was about 75% blocked with gunk. I used throttle body cleaner with an extension straw, and a toothbrush. Sprayed the screen, scrubbed, sprayed some more, scrubbed, until it was completely clean. Then I sprayed a bunch more into the screen and the other opening, let it sit a few minutes, then turned the valve as far sideways as it would go to dump it. I used compressed air to blow it out real good, and let it sit for about 20 minutes to dry while I cleaned the throttle body.

Bolted it back in, unplugged the ECU connector, cranked it, and set the idle at 750. Cut the engine and replaced the connector. Cranked it back up. It settled in back at 750 and idles solid as a rock now. Worked like a charm. Hope this helps some.
