BBHG.. one love.
im excited to see this
god i hope...he might have to start getting custom exhaust weldedKong, are you sure 3" is big enough for your build?
Awesome Kong. I'm really excited to see this build happen. And no worries. My build is going to take a while too. :thumbs upThis cars body paint is finished up. The doors and bumpers still need work. I think a 3 inch exhaust system with not Cat is good enough.
man it has been forever since i updated the my thread. Just been reading a lot lately(wasn't a turbo person until 4 months ago, so had to try to learn everything). I mean a lot. Like 3-4 hours every night on compitional turbo builds. Also reading up on wire tucks and brake line tucks. So haven't bought anything lately. Been partying too often and i have work and school too. Also, thinking about how to beat the national champ driver next year in my civic. So time is very tight. Yeah, so the mind has been on full power for the last couple of months.
But here are some figures to keep everyone on their feet. These figures are what i would like to attain. Nothing too crazy because it will be for autoX and road racing. THIS IS NOT A DRAG CAR.
Tires: Toyo R1R 225/45/16. Wish Dunlop Z1 Star Specs/RE-11 came in this size.
Engine: Bought one, yes i did. Not a K-Series. What is it then? I'll tell in a little bit.
What i plan to do...? Basically all planned out and priced. Just actually have to do it.
internals:
Aries closed deck sleeving.
CP 9.0:1 pistons
Brian Crower connecting rods
ACL bearings....
ARP bolts everywhere.
Head:
Still unsure. i can get a great deal on OEM parts since i am with Honda Racing Line. So i might just do a complete refresher on the head parts.
Or, go with a complete Skunk2 Pro series valve/valve spring system.
Some type of a 70 MM throttle body.
This block will be built to with stand 500 hp easily. but i am only running 400 max if my friends want to F**k around at the local drag strip 10 miles from my house. But most of the time, i think i will only be doing about 325-350 whp during competition. All FF drivers will tell you any more power won't make a difference on course. i want good response and the most power under the curve, so did a lot of research on my 2.0 engine and Garret recommends their GT3071R. Which is most likely what i will be going with. Garrret says i should brake the 400 hp make at about 15 PSI with a conservative "tune". I do not plan on running any type of water/meth injection, i plan to have everything work off 91 octane fuel.
More:
800 cc injectors because of possible future possibilities. Already have Walbro 255 fuel pump. Need new fuel rail and a bunch of fittings and etc.....
ECU: Hondata or AEM. Doesn't really matter. But i must have boost by gear controls.
Radiator/intercooler: Would like to do some type of V-mount setup like the real race cars but we'll have to see about possible clearance problems first. And an oil cooler.
Transmission:
K-series built to FD2 civic ratios but sixth gear will be swapped out to TSX 6th gear to save gas on high way duties. Possibly MFactory mechanical LSD. Drive Shaft 2.9 axles too.
Tuner: Maybe T1 Race development out of Dallas? i am only about 5 hours away from them.
That's just the engine bay. There still so much more i would like to do. But money is tight and i put family members before this car. So that is one of the reason for the slow build. I know most of you guys can understand.
Hopefully, next month i can get my block sleeved.
I guess i won't make it again this year for ROTY.
