Small psi

0k this might be a dumb question...but roughly how much extra hp would 2-3 psi give a car... i kno some cars have stock turbos at that but as far as a b18a1... i cant find any info on it... probley because it would be no point to spend that much on a turbo to run it that low... but its kinda as a i jus want to kno

thats right.
It's a subjective answer. It depends on the engine, the volumetric efficiency of the system, and what turbo you're using. A larger turbo is more efficient at moving air at higher boost levels than a smaller turbo.
In other words, psi means absolutely jack when it comes to comparing turbos. 15psi on one turbo does not equal 15psi on another turbo. A better translation of power is airflow in Lbs/Minute. On a typical car, the rule of thumb is 10.x horsepower for every 1 lb/min of airflow. That's regardless of boost pressure, so it works even if you upgrade turbos (and run them at different boost levels) since different turbos flow different amounts

thanks... my friend also has an acura and they got this cheapo thing on ebay that it a electronic turbo(they call it a supercharger which its defentily not lol) that u hook to ur intake and it sucks up 2-3 psi... ill give u the link... like it was something i was interested if it would actually do a damn thing lol... but i defentily not doing it... im saving up on an official turbo kit lol

but this is wut he typed in
Electric Supercharger Turbo Acura Integra RSX Legend TL
and its by turbomotorcity

.... psi means absolutely jack .....
That is all, thank you.

Im so tired of the "how much psi are you running?" like thats a measurement of power.

First of all, ^^^those guys are correct. Secondly, what turbo would you plan on running? I don't know why you'd want to run that low an amount of boost. There's no reason that I can think of to run that low of a PSI on any setup. You could run anywhere from 5 PSI -7.35 PSI (0.5 BAR) and be safe on stock internals. ...With a proper tune.

i dont want to run anything that low... thats the thing on ebay that my friend was looking at

personally i think it will jus restrict air flow.... but i could be wrong
Your right. They are junk. There are ACTUAL electric "turbo's" out there made by respectable companies that work, but there costly and not worth it. Funny thing is the 06+ WRX's and STI's have an electric pump on the intake that when on generates enough pressure to move vacuum up to -1psi, LOL! I think its a warm up feature...possibly emissions related, idk never looked into it because idc.
