hello everyone, i'm new to the site, bu been building cars for a while, and kinda new to the integra scene, i know about the engines, ive built a few for friends, but i have no clue about the trannys, i have a 90 intgera with the b18a1, and the tranny is going out, me being a tuner i want better, i talked to a friend he aid to drop a newer b16 trans out of a si civic that why i get sd, but i would have to convert it over to a cable clutch, what should i do? i mean i want the lsd, but what is the difference in gearing in the trannys, or should i jus go find a gsr trans? any help would be helpful, thanks in advance

With a different transmission you will need new axles.

And b series transmission will bolt up to the block, but I believe you need together the appropriate clutch/pressure plate for the transmission.

I don't think the b16 came with LSD.

The 90 Integra already has a cable clutch. I'm assuming by Civic Si you are referring to a 99-00 model. To use a transmission out of one of those, you would need to convert to a hydraulic clutch. That particular transmission does not have an LSD. The gear ratios are a good amount shorter (higher numerically) than what you already have. Some people feel they are too short due to the RPM it causes you to use on the freeway. That's all personal preference though.

GSR transmission are also shorter geared than the non VTEC tranny (although not as drastic as a B16), but you will be in the same boat....you will need a new clutch, a cable to hydro conversion and you will still not have an LSD

I thought some of the b16 transmissions came with LSD. Mine has it, though that could have been added after the factory.

Some B16 trannies did, but not the 99-00 Civic Si does not
