okay so i had the engine hesitation issue and coulda sworn it was my TPS, replaced that tonight, still does it. and yes its calibrated perfectly. sooo here we go, im going to list all the symptoms as best as possible.

remember, it started doing this after a couple hard pulls on the highway...

start with idling... it idles okay, like it used to but still kind of rough, itll idle higher and then lower and pulsate... during idle the vaccuum is around 15 and sometimes 17, which isnt ideal...

sitting in neutral (when in vaccuum) i can rev and get it to hesitate throughout the rpm band and no matter than amount of throttle, more throttle and it hesitates less.

it also pours out a hell of a lot of smoke during throttle and backfires a hell of a lot more, aka its running real rich.

while driving, normal acceleration (only vaccuum) it will hesitate for the majority of the time but when i give it gas to bring it to 0+ vaccuum and into boost, itll be fine, HOWEVER loss of power, it doesnt feel like it pulls as hard, but that could be cause its running REAL rich right now.

umm, decel with all engine braking is perfect, no hiccuping or hesitating...

my friend says when i rev the motor now its higher pitched, almost sounds like a 2 stroke, however i cant tell..

itll backfire a hell of a light just trying to hold partial throttle at a constant speed (only in vaccuum).

starts right up fine, shuts down fine...

after i let off throttle fully, in nuetral, the rpms drop and dip then pick back up near 1000, it actually died on me once today when doing it... havnt tried it yet while actually driving.

so we have, engine hesitating during idle mostly any rpm and any throttle, engine hesitating when accelerating without boost and holding a constant throttle without boost, running really rich with backfiring, rough idle, not ideal vaccuum number at idle and its not the TPS..

what are my options, i know vaccum leak is a major one but will that cause me to run piigggg rich?! and i checked every major hose i could see, where else should i look that hondas might be notorious for..

umm im pretty sure thats all i can say about the problem right now, if you guys need any further answers, feel free to ask.

it really sounds to me like you may have busted something internally if it happend during 3 hard pulls on the highway and it only seems to be getting worse. and how do you know your running rich and not just burning oil due to a bad valve seal or bad rings? when was the last time you had it tuned? im just trying to throw out ideas for you

well if i busted something internally wouldnt i have more problems then engine hesitating at certain times, wouldnt i hear stuff and it would struggle to start, and die more often? and i can tell im running rich since blackish grey smoke pours out when giving it throttle and im backfiring like crazy..

i do burn oil ridiculously to being with, which is another issue im having.. but like, what could i have done internally that would only cuase the symtoms iv listed and nothing else?

My integra burns oil only because I have a worn valve, Now if you have blown out the valve, valve seat, or even the head gasket. It will still run, but you will burn vital fluids like mad. if you pull any of the plugs do you have oil, water, or a very merky substance on any of them? You say that it has gotten progressivley worse. what did it start like and how is it now. Honestly speaking I ran a blown head gasket on my 89 honda for two years before it finally quit running, but I burned oil and antifreeze like mad, then finnaly had to rip her open and fix it. let me know about the plugs, got my intrest on this one. Is the timming correct?

now if the headgasket was bad wouldnt i have very crappy compression numbers, normally 2 cylinders next to each other low while the others high?

that is very true. I assume you have done a compession test. And that also depends on were the crack is at and how big it is. Did you have oil up on the plugs at all?

also, a tech at my work informed me to check my engine coolant temp sensor..

so i checked the resistance, its reading 1.8 kohms at a normal temp, when it should be reading 200-300 ohms. which means the resistance is sky high, which means its telling my ecu im running really, really fucking cold.

which means im going to autozone to get a new sensor and hopefully thats my issue.

ill keep you updated.

that is very true. I assume you have done a compession test. And that also depends on were the crack is at and how big it is. Did you have oil up on the plugs at all?
oil on the threads o fthe plugs, but i was told that could have been valve cover gaskets...

the oil leak is the least of my worries cause it still ran with the oil burning haha.. i wanna fix the issue at hand.

i noticed that oil drips out of the return and feed lines of my turbo, so ill go in there one day and pull it out and unclog if necessary and put some thread tape on and retighten the lines, and the compression in one of my cyls is low, the others are pretty good so i might have a bad ring in the one causing oil to get back, so im pretty confident i know the oil issue, but this one...

quite possibly the ECTS

yeah, after rereading all off your posts, sorry bad call on my behalf on the head gasket, at least you have leads on what the possibilities may be. I accutually have to integras, one of which has a very bad valve cover gasket. It ate the bumper of a montero, so now its my parts car, it always had oil on the number 3 plug. But none the less sounds like you have a lead on the problem. good luck, hope that fixes your prob.

does it shudder at all if it does its broken engine mount? or you threw the timing off which can happen on rare instances
