I take it you replaced the Head bolts and didnt reuse the old ones? The head may not be warped, is there anything wrong with the deck of the block?

I had a similar problem in a 350 small block out of my truck way back when: After you take the head off, rotate the crankshaft until #4 is bottomed out. Clean it up real good in there and start look for cracks in the cylinder sleeve....I had a small crack that was 2 inches long and only about 1/32 of an inch wide and it was flooding with coolant like a bad head gasket. The cooling system is under pressure, so it doesn't take much of a crack or hole to allow tons of coolant in. Hope this helps.

thanks for all the suggestions. as for the pressure test, the said they pressure tested and magna-fluxed the head. did a valve job. and everything was o.k.. as for the head bolts, i used arp bolts. i checked the cyl. wall the other night with #4 at btc, and found nothing. do the intakes on these ever have a broblem with throttle body leaks or the fast idle solinoid leaking inside?
