Ok so this is my first time doing a sub installon a car and i need a little help can some one put in simple terms what I need? I am making a custom enclosure for a set of 2 10" pioneer premire TS-SW1001S_ now they can be either S2 or S4 for either 2 or 4 ohms. I cant find out what the difference is between 2 and 4 ohms and which one I should get. I also dont have a clue what amp to use with these subs if any one could send me in the right direction there that would help as well. The RMS for these is 300 for each with a 1200 max. I hope some one can at least reference me to a good write up cause from the hour of searching on google that I did I am more lost now then i was before.

ok after some more reaserch it looks like I may have found what I am looking for if some one can verify this for me.I am looking to match the subs to what the amp is designed for if I wire them in series thats 4 or 8 ohms respectivley or in parallel its 2 or 4 ohms. as for the power of the amp its self if I wire the subs in parallel it looks like I want a amp made for around 300 watts and made to handle 4 ohms of resistance correct?

That seems correct. i just did 2 10" in my integra myself over the weekend. Good luck on the build man

if you get the 2 ohm subwoofers then you they will be ran at 1 ohm because you have 2
and if you get the 4 ohms then it will be ran at 2 ohms

that si relative to how you wire it though right? with most electrical circuits if you do them in series it will be 2X2 to get 4 ohms or 2 at 4 to get 8 and in parallel it will be 2 at 4 to get 2 ohms or 2 at 2 to get 1 ohm my queston is more that of a amp recomendation and the power i need it to be rates at

you can wire the two 2ohm SVC subs in parallel to give you a 1ohm load to the amp.

since you're going with a shallow subwoofer im assuming you want to save space...

an amp that outputs at 600W x 1 @ 1ohm will be what you're looking for.

If you wire a 2 ohm dual voice coil sub in parallel, you get 1 ohm. If you wire it in series you get 4 ohms.
If you wire a 4 ohm dual voice coil sub in parallel, you get 2 ohms. If you wire it in series you'll get 8 ohms.

pioneer shallow subwoofers are SVC though.

but anyways the OP is getting 2 so... it be the same as wiring ONE DVC sub.
