I'm selling my GSR. It has 179k miles, all stock and well cared for. I'm 60 years old and don't hot rod this car. It just failed the California smog check due to hydrocarbons and the CO was a little high also, both at 2500 RPM. Last year I think it needed a new thermostat to pass. I can't remember now if the O2 sensor was changed since I bought the car about 3 years ago. The funny thing is that is passed the pre-test and failed on the actual test so something is intermittent, hopefully the O2 sensor since the other possibility is catalytic converter.
I've looked online and the new 2009 California smog law requires even older Integras to get the OBD II catalytic converters. I see them online for around $250-$300. I'm wondering how much the smog/repair station might charge me if they order and install it?? I'm not going to do it myself. In recent years the dist cap and ignition module have been replaced along with timing belt, water pump, etc.
