Cobb AccessPort

I'm just seeing what you guys think of this product. The way Cobb advertises, it makes it seem like anyone can grab one of these and tune a high hp boosted monster. I know this tool is a must for say a Subie or an MS3 but I'm unfamiliar with it.

As of now its only available for the 06+ Si but hopefully Cobb will release versions for other H motors.

Thoughts?Discuss..

I know that people haven't had great results on the MS3 with it. The maps they provided didn't provide much better results then the stock map.

Coming from an MS3 and the MS3 forums, the maps are very limited on mods... they are for certain intakes, certain inlets, certain exhaust and if you were to have 2-3 of the maps would do more damage than benefit..

and like Aussie said, they didnt really do much..

i never had one but i do know that a lot of the MS3s whos motors popped, they were running APs... your better with a true standalone ECU

Wow really? Definitely not the answers I was expecting since the AP seems to be a must for Subaru tuning.

only works good on cars with turbo i have it on my wrx and its pretty decent

I believe it is. Ive heard good things from the Subaru, Mitsu, and RX8 communities for Cobb but thats about it. But for a Subaru, there fucking amazing and a must buy first mod

for the MS3, no, just set maps... i guess they just released a way to be able to actually make your own maps but i havnt heard much about it

not to sure about others, i dont see why they wouldnt be though because the mazdas are just a dick to tune in the first place with any unit, even standalones..

i would call a place that would tune your car and ask what they say about it

agreed it fucken adds like 60hp no joke with only a few basic mods, when i had their access port on my subie and it raped. plus you can change maps on the fly, you could be cruzing in economy mode and if some one rolls up on you you just swich it real quick to stage 2 race!!!! Night and Day seriously........

Yea there are 2 levels, you can use there program called "street tuner" and alter your maps, but there is some build in safety features (but really its all you need). To go all out you need to get the "Pro tuner" software.
