Check Engine Light. Help!!

Hi everyone,

So here is the deal. A friend of mine gave me his 1990 Integra RS, however, prior to giving it to me he had a B16A (VTEC) motor installed. He had problems with the car and gave it to me. Turns out it was his fuel pump and injectors. I have fixed the problem and the car well, but the check engine light emits after driving it for a few miles. After I turn off the motor the check engine light disappears but returns after a few miles. I have already tried to jump the plug on the passenger side but nothing happens. My guess is that once I shut the engine off the Check Engine Light goes away. I have also tried jumping the plug while the engine is running and the Check Engine Light is still lit, but still nothing happens. Does anyone have any idea or can give me some advice of what it might be? Has this happen to anyone before? Your response will be greatly appreciated. Vroom Vroom!!!

Hey thanks guys.

I actually searched other sites and found the problem. You guys are correct, the blinking light is on the ecu. It is spitting out codes 2 and 23 (oxygen sensor and knock sensor). It appears as if I need to have two oxygen sensor for the OBD0.

Has anyone ever changed the knock sensor on the b16? Do I need to drain the oil prior to changing the knock sensor or any fluid, or it should be safe for me to just swap out a new one? Much appreciated fellas.
