I understand where you're coming from. However... The 94-01 Integra has been in the top 10 most stolen car list for quite some time now. IMO, most modified Hondas are at risk of being stolen. I'm talking about Accords, Civics, Integras, S2000s, NSXs, etc. My aunt drives a modified CR-V, but I don't think anyone's is going to jack it. Lol! All in all, I still think all Integra owners should have some kind of security system with an alarm. Just my :twocents:
Not to sound rude, we all know the integra is either #1 or #2 since it was invented, its nothing new. Any car is at a risk to be stolen, more people just steal Hondas plain and simple. Alarm or no alarm. It didnt take a 21 year old kid to teach me anything. sorry.
Case in point: last summer, my friend spent the night at my house because he had a long drive the next day, and parked his '07 metallic blue Pontiac G6 GT in front of our house. He woke me and my roommates up the next morning asking where his car was. My white DC4 was parked right in front of it the night before, and it was still parked there unharmed. I lived on a quiet dead end street in an upper middle class neighborhood mostly populated by old white people (and I was probably the only black guy in the neighborhood, lol).
This is one of the reasons why I haven't modified my car (main reason being I don't really have much money to throw at my car besides repairs). I prefer my car to stay as stock as possible on the outside. That includes rims and exhaust, although I'm looking at exhaust systems right now. No stickers, no VTEC emblems, no lowering, JDM/UKDM stuff, flashy paint, NOTHING extra. Not til I get my own garage and another car. Adding all that stuff to the outside of your car just brings unwanted attention, and things like this happen when you just forget to put your car in the garage for the night or take off the steering wheel. I'm not saying you shoulda been more careful, because honestly, shit happens, and it's a damn shame when you can't even keep your car safe on your own property. I'm just glad thieves in my area don't waste their time with bone-stock looking Integras, especially this old and busted DA. I have a feeling that will change, and I still worry for it. For now, it's in an apartment complex with plenty of other Hondas/Acuras and better looking cars.
Oh yea, my DC4 didn't have a working alarm system when my friend's car got stolen from right in front of it. The previous owner disabled it, and I never got another one installed.
This shit just makes me sad.
